Registration for Rainey’s 2010 Summer Camp Program “Bigger, Better, Stronger” is now open.

Summer campers will enjoy performing and visual arts, hiking, swimming, field trips, and more ! A math and literacy component will challenge campers intellectually. Rainey Institute Breaks Ground on Alexander McAfee Building!

On Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 Rainey Institute broke ground on the new Alexander McAfee Building!

Rainey Institutes’ original building was built by Eleanor B. Rainey as a settlement house in Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood in 1904. While we’ve made good use of our facility for many years, this new building will double our space to over 20,000 square feet and was designed with the arts in mind. An on-site theatre, expanded classrooms, and soundproof practice rooms are just a few of the improvements in our new building. We’ll also double our capacity to reach more children in the community, and provide expanded programming. This is a truly an exciting time for the Rainey family! Rainey Institute is where the arts change lives, and this new building will sincerely enhance the positive impact we have on children and teens though the arts.

The Alexander McAfee building would not be possible without the generous support of Rainey board members, staff, families, and community friends – thank you for all that you do! We are still seeking support for interior furnishings, upgraded arts and music equipment, and other needs.
