Rainey Institute offers a ballet program serving children ages 6-10 who are looking for a safe community to spend time in while cultivating their creative interests. We have classes at both the beginner and intermediate levels.
This program is designed to benefit students providing opportunities for exercise while developing personal artistry, self-confidence, social skills and discipline.
Taught by a professional dancer from GroundWorks Dance Theater, this class will introduce students to ballet fundamentals including: classroom etiquette, acquiring proper body alignment, musicality and basic ballet vocabulary. Students will be given technical training beginning at barre and then progressing to the center. They will also be given opportunities to creatively apply what they have learned with guidance and mentorship from GroundWorks Dance Theater professional artists.
The ballet class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 pm – 6:15 pm for our beginners and from 6:15 – 7:30 for our intermediate dancers. Proper ballet attire is required.
