On Monday, June 18, 2012, Rainey Institute and 24 African-American focused theaters around the country will engage in a national day of celebration of African-American theater by producing staged readings of The Amen Corner, the classic drama by James Baldwin.

For this innovative, national event, coordinated by PROJECT1VOICE, all 25 theaters will produce this one play, at one time, on one day. The cast, under the theatrical direction of Dale Shields and the musical direction of Ed Ridley, will include Actors Equity Association artists and others.

The production at Rainey Institute will benefit Rainey’s Theater Program. The performance starts at 7:00 p.m. and tickets are $25.00.
