The Arts Education Support Associate provides a broad range of administrative and instructional assistance, customer service, and program facilitation support to Rainey’s Arts Education director and staff, to facilitate hiqh-quality programming and service to our community. Supporting and working closely with the Director of Arts Education, this person is knowledgeable and passionate about the mission of arts education at Rainey, and committed to facilitating excellent and efficient day-to-day program operation. In addition, this person supports the recruitment and enrollment of youth into our programs, and provides comprehensive support and outstanding customer service to Rainey families and students, advising and guiding them through program registration, enrollment, and participation. This person also works with the full Arts Education staff (including director, program managers, teaching faculty, volunteers, etc.) to ensure consistent implementation and compliance with all policies/procedures, and federal/state/local rules.


Administrative & Instructional Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Arts Education, including assistance with coordinating AE meetings and orientations, facilitating special programming projects and initiatives, ordering of supplies and materials, coordinating programming and event calendars, and other assistance as needed.
  • Work with director and program managers to coordinate the collection of program evaluations, student achievement and progress data, student and parent satisfaction surveys, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) data, to support grant reporting and program development.
  • Provide instructional support in all program areas (as needed), including direct classroom instruction, assistance with classroom management and facilitation, and support with equipment setup and usage.
  • Assist director and program managers with coordinating the use of shared spaces (i.e. recording studio, computer lab, etc.)

Program Facilitation:

  • Facilitate the day-to-day operation of on-site programming (after school, summer camp, and private/group lessons – as well as Saturday, teen, and preschool programs, as needed), including delivery and/or coordination of student attendance, special projects and events (i.e. performances/exhibits, guest visits, etc.), and health care/medication plans to ensure organized, efficient, and consistent implementation of activities.
  • In advance of all daily programming, ensure that common areas, classrooms, welcome and waiting spaces are clean and prepared to welcome students for engagement upon arrival.
  • Remain on-site during programming to provide support to teaching faculty, program managers, volunteers, and students, including set-up/arrangement of instructional spaces, technology troubleshooting, assistance with student conduct and incidents/injuries, etc. as needed.
  • Promote and champion a positive culture of excellence, achievement, and community, exemplifying the Rainey norms for students, families, and partners.
  • Implement systems for maintaining and monitoring health and safety compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations.

Customer Service & Support:

  • Provide thorough and proactive communication with parents and students, throughout their engagement with Rainey (including during program registration, orientation, participation, etc.).
  • In absence of a front desk attendant or volunteer, serve as the first point of contact for guests entering the building, implement visitor policies, and direct them appropriately.
  • Maintain and provide a pleasant, positive representation of Rainey, through courteous communication with guests, a solution-oriented approach to assisting parents, students, and partners, and a consistently professional demeanor.
  • Attend community meetings to represent Rainey Institute in support of recruiting children and families into our programming.
  • Adhere to all Rainey policies and procedures, and be able to explain the same to parents and students.
  • Keep confidential all information regarding the Center, including staff, children, and families.


Education, Training and/or Experience:

  • Associates Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • At least two years experience in education or youth development, preferably in an administrative assistance or center administration/site management capacity.
  • Proficient in data entry, using Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite programs. Experience with billing and database software preferred.
  • Knowledge of ODJFS rules and regulations is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year
