EMPLOYEE STATUS: Part Time (15 hours estimated per week), Year Round

WORK HOURS & LOCATION: Flexible, but in-office presence required for certain tasks and meetings. Rainey is located at 1705 East 55th Street, Cleveland, OH 44103.

SALARY: $18-$25 per hour commensurate with experience

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development Associate supports the Development Department at Rainey Institute by driving and maintaining the team’s internal systems to ensure fundraisers have the tools and support they need to increase giving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure timely processing and stewardship of donations, including following gift processing procedures as gifts come in, sending tax acknowledgement letters within two weeks of donation; and leveraging the DonorPerfect database to assign team members tasks for gift follow-up such as handwritten thank you’s or calls for gifts over allocated amount.
  • Maintain and enhance the team’s use of the Donor database to appropriately reflect gift and pledge information, code revenue, create/modify appropriate reports, opportunities, contacts, and accounts to ensure 100% accuracy of data at least bi-monthly and as gifts/contacts are made.
  • Maintain and enhance the team’s use of the grants database to ensure LOI, application, and report deadlines are appropriately assigned to team members and met, and properly keep record of submitted materials and files for agreements.
  • Prepare agenda, pull reports, and take notes for weekly Development Team meetings and assign or track tasks/engagement in DonorPerfect and Fluxx databases.
  • Build and maintain donor lists based on criteria as needed by Development Team members, to assist in event planning or mailer communications as necessary. For any initiatives or campaigns developed by fundraisers, help to develop donor lists, update database mechanisms, prepare and send communications, track gifts, and send thank you letters.
  • Utilize prospect research resources as necessary to inform the identification and cultivation process of new individual, corporate and foundation prospects.

• Assist in the success of the annual events and campaigns and other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree preferred
  • 1 years proven fundraising/development experience
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Solid team player with demonstrated ability to work with flexibility and efficiency in a fast paced environment
  • Value education and engagement in the arts
  • Highly organized and results driven
  • Sense of humor and artistic ability a plus
  • Ability to generate a positive image of the organization with all contacts and communications that represent the Rainey Institute
  • High degree of computer literacy required
  • Experience using a donor management database required, DonorPerfect and Fluxx a plus.
