Visual and new media art experiences that are out of this world.

Exploring colors, textures, and materials brings joy and inspiration to individuals of all ages, especially children. The feeling a child gets when they create their first work of art is priceless. Rainey Institute’s Teaching Artists provide a wide range of fun and engaging art projects across a variety of artistic mediums. Our offerings include the following programs:

After School – Intergalactic Art

Students: 3rd – 8th Grades

Intergalactic ARTS offers a safe learning environment that nurtures creativity and innovation by providing age-adaptable art projects and integrated art forms for budding artists.

Students will absorb hands-on experiences in a fusion of visual art in both 2D and 3D media including Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Ceramics, and Digital Art.

Students will learn to integrate their art experiences with diverse academic subjects and cultures. They will hone self-expression, communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills through a variety of artistic approaches and sustained effort.

Saturday Arts In Me

Experimental Print Laboratory Paper + Ink + Pressure

Students: 6 Years +

This class provides the magical art experience of printmaking for any child 6 years old and up! Step by step, students will learn the process of papermaking and the assorted printmaking methods, such as monotype, relief, contact , collagraph printing, etc. The possibility of experimentation and mixed media will be explored. Students will develop skills in layering, carving, composition and design as they explore materials and techniques. They will also sharpen their drawing skills to create eye-catching artworks. If you love designing and printing your cards, posters, T-shirts, tote bags, and more…, THIS IS THE CLASS FOR YOU!

Saturday Arts In Me

Ceramics Studio

Students: 6 Years +

This course is for anyone interested in exploring ceramics or advancing to the next level in ceramics.  Students will be taken to a new level and will  create using the pinch pot, coil building and slab building techniques and learn how to use a variety of tools.  Each student will work on a project, whether it is making cups and dinnerware or creating a stand alone figure, ceramics is the place to be.  Exhibitions showcasing each student’s ceramic art will be held twice during the class year.
